Millie Campbell

Millie Campbell is a 22-year-old educator with a passion for English literature and a profound desire to guide and support young minds. Inspired by her own English teachers during her school years at Alleynes in Stone, Millie felt a calling to impart knowledge and inspiration to the upcoming generation.

What drew Millie to the field of education was her belief in the transformative power of literature and its relevance to contemporary life. With a deep love for reading and the escapism it offers, Millie saw teaching English as an opportunity to share this passion and foster critical thinking among her students.

Opting for the PGCE route, Millie found her way to The OAKS through its reputation for unwavering support and career-focused training. From the outset, she appreciated the guidance provided by experienced educators and guest speakers, particularly valuing their insights into school leadership and career prospects.

Preparing herself for the challenges ahead, Millie immersed herself in recommended readings and familiarised herself with the current curriculum, under the mentorship of Julie Hampson. She believes in the importance of approachability and creating a supportive classroom environment where students feel empowered to express themselves.

For Millie, the most rewarding aspect of teaching is the opportunity to inspire and make a tangible difference in students’ lives. Her short-term goal is to complete her ECT and lay a solid foundation for her future career, with aspirations to progress into school leadership and contribute to decision-making processes.
