How we help you achieve your goals.

Two trainees celebrating passing their teacher training year

We understand that your teacher training year will be both highly rewarding and, at times, challenging. That is why trainee wellbeing and access to support sit at the heart of Ormiston Teacher Training. From your very first enquiry through to the end of the programme and beyond, you will find multiple layers of support built into every stage of your training.

Our approach ensures support is accessible, timely and responsive, enabling you not only to succeed but to flourish as a trainee and as an individual.

Central Training Team

Our central team brings a wealth of experience in teacher development and trainee support. You will get to know them well through weekly training sessions, regular school visits and ongoing communication. The team offers both academic and pastoral guidance ensuring wellbeing is always a priority.

School-Based Support

Within your placement school, you will be supported by a highly skilled mentor who will meet with you to review your progress and agree individual development targets. You will also work closely alongside an experienced class teacher, gradually building your confidence and responsibility towards whole-class teaching, with consistent guidance and feedback throughout.

Peer Support

The relationships formed between trainees are a vital source of encouragement and support. We actively foster these connections through pre-course events, helping you build strong professional and personal networks that last well beyond your training.

At Ormiston Teacher Training, you are never alone. Our supportive community is committed to helping you develop, thrive and feel confident as you take your next steps into the teaching profession.
